On October 29th, I had the privilege of attending a deeply moving Stakeholders Resource Mobilization Meeting at St. Maria Theresa Rushoroza Primary School in Kabale. The meeting, convened by the school's Special Needs Department and long-time funder ARU, brought together partners, educators, and community leaders to confront a sobering reality: the donor space is shrinking, but the needs of children with disabilities and their caregivers remain urgent and growing.

As Margaret & Emma Organization, we’ve long believed in the power of inclusive empowerment. Through our existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the school, we’ve committed to supporting mothers of children with special needs through vocational training, financial literacy, and psychosocial support. This partnership is more than paperwork—it’s a shared vision for dignity, opportunity, and resilience.
Our Pledge: Support, Solidarity, and Mobilization
At the meeting, we reaffirmed our commitment to stand by the school. We pledged to:
Mobilize friends and well-wishers to donate scholastic materials, sanitary towels, and other essentials
Continue offering skills training and psychosocial support to caregivers as we have been doing
Advocate for inclusive development across Kabale and beyond
Provide sex education to the adolescent children with special needs and the rest of the school including menstruation health and hygiene.
Sensitize the community on special needs children, why they are the way they are, how love, support and care for them.
This is not just about charity it’s about justice. Every child deserves access to education, and every caregiver deserves the tools to thrive.
How You Can Help
We’re calling on our community locally and globally to join us. Whether you’re a business owner, a parent, a teacher, or simply someone who believes in equity, your support can make a difference.
Ways to contribute:
Donate scholastic supplies or sanitary towels
Sponsor a vocational training session for mothers of children with disabilities
Sponsor a child by paying for them school fees
Share this message with others who care.
In times of shrinking resources, collaboration becomes our greatest asset. The meeting reminded us that while funding may fluctuate, our collective will to uplift and include must remain unwavering.
Let’s build a future where no child is left behind and no caregiver stands alone.
